DELSU Extends 2025/2026 Screening Deadline to January 23, 2026

Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, has officially extended the screening exercise for newly admitted candidates for the 2025/2026 academic session by one week, now closing on Friday, 23rd January 2026.

The extension aims to give candidates enough time to complete all admission requirements so that the university can forward matriculation lists to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in line with 2025/2026 admission guidelines.

Key Deadlines Candidates Must Note:

  • Accept admission on JAMB portal: Wednesday, 21 January 2026
  • Complete DELSU screening: Friday, 23 January 2026

Candidates who fail to meet these deadlines risk losing their admission for the 2025/2026 session. DELSU stressed that until all admission requirements are completed, candidates remain provisional and not bonafide students of the university.

Who Is Affected:

  • Newly admitted UTME and Direct Entry candidates for 2025/2026
  • Candidates who have received provisional admission but have not yet accepted it on the JAMB portal
  • Candidates who have not completed the full screening process

University Warning:
DELSU issued a clear warning that failure to accept admission and complete screening will result in the automatic forfeiture of admission. Candidates are strongly urged to act promptly to secure their place.

Final Note to Candidates and Screening Officers:
All candidates are advised to use the extension wisely and complete their screening within the stipulated period. Screening officers are also reminded to adhere strictly to the new deadline.

DELSU continues to maintain that matriculation numbers are only issued after full compliance with the admission process, and until then, candidates remain in provisional status.
