Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has officially announced a major adjustment to its second-semester schedule, merging the previously planned mid-semester break with the upcoming Christmas and New Year holiday.
The decision extends the festive break and shifts students’ resumption date by one week.

In its notice circulated to the university community, BUK management confirmed that the mid-semester break will no longer stand independently. Instead, it has been combined with the Christmas and New Year holiday to give students a single stretch of uninterrupted rest.
Under the updated calendar, the holiday begins on 22 December 2025, with students now set to return on 10 January 2026 — a notable shift from the earlier resumption date of 3 January 2026.
