Programmes Available

ATBU’s School of Postgraduate Studies offers a wide range of full-time postgraduate programmes, including:

  • PhD, M.Sc., M.Eng., M.Tech., MBA, MHM, MAFS, MITM, MDS, and MFM
  • M.Tech. (Education) and M.Sc. in Embedded Artificial Intelligence
  • PGD and Professional Master’s in fields such as Procurement Management, Environmental Studies, and Social Development

Admission Requirements

For Postgraduate Diploma (PGD):

Applicants must have:

  • Five (5) O’level credits including English Language and Mathematics
  • A Third-Class degree or HND with at least Lower Credit
  • Relevant work experience (advantageous if your degree isn’t directly related)

For Master’s Programmes:

Candidates are required to have:

  • Five (5) O’level credits including English and Mathematics
  • A First Degree (minimum of Second-Class Lower) from ATBU or any recognized university
  • Applicants with CGPA 2.40–2.99 must present three years post-graduation experience
  • Third-class degree holders must show five years of work experience
  • HND holders must have a Credit-level PGD before applying
  • Some departments may require a qualifying test

For PhD Programmes:

Applicants must have:

  • A Master’s degree in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 3.50
  • Five (5) O’level credits including English and Mathematics
  • A written research proposal (to be uploaded and sent as a hard copy to the proposed department)
  • May be required to take a qualifying exam or undergo a probationary period

Note:

  • Engineering PGD programmes last 24 to 36 months.
  • There’s no part-time option for PGD and Master’s.

How to Apply

Interested candidates should apply online via the ATBU Postgraduate Portal between June 23 and November 7, 2025.

What You’ll Need:

  • A valid email address and phone number
  • Scanned copies of all academic certificates
  • NYSC discharge or exemption certificate (mandatory)
  • Official transcript sent directly from your previous institution to the Head of Department of your proposed course
  • PhD applicants must upload a research synopsis

Important Notes

  • Fill out the online form carefully — errors may disqualify your application.
  • Only candidates who complete all requirements and submit their documents will be considered.
  • All communications and updates will be sent via email, so check regularly.
  • The application fee is ₦11,000 only.
