ASUU Gombe State University Launches 2025 Indigent Scholarship for Financially Needy and Talented Students

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Gombe State University (GSU) chapter, has announced the opening of applications for the 2025 Indigent Scholarship Award. This initiative is designed to support students facing financial challenges while rewarding academic excellence.

What is the Indigent Scholarship?

The ASUU GSU Indigent Scholarship is aimed at students who demonstrate both financial need and academic merit. The scholarship seeks to ease the financial burden on deserving students, enabling them to focus more on their studies and less on financial pressures.

Who is Eligible to Apply?

To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Financial Need: Applicants should be indigent (financially disadvantaged).
2. Academic Excellence: A minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 is required.
3. Application Letter: A letter (not exceeding two pages) must be submitted, containing:

• Full name
• Course of study and year of study
• State of origin
• Phone number

What Documents Are Required?

Applicants must submit the following documents along with their application letter:

1. A photocopy of a valid identity card.
2. A letter from the Head of Department confirming the applicant’s current CGPA for the 2022/2023 academic session.
3. A copy of the registration form for the 2023/2024 academic session.
4. Two recent passport photographs.

Important Notes:

• Students in 100-level are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
• The deadline for submission is 6:00 PM on January 10, 2025.
