ASCOEA issues final reminder to graduates on certificate payment deadline

The Aminu Saleh College of Education, Azare (ASCOEA) has issued a crucial reminder to all graduates affiliated with the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) between 2017 and 2023, emphasizing the need to pay a ₦20,000 non-refundable fee for certificate processing before November 17, 2025.

In an official notice, the college disclosed that it is fast-tracking the production of certificates for affected graduates and that the payment—to be made via Remita—will enable the institution to finalize and deliver certificates in collaboration with UNIMAID.

Background to the reminder

According to ASCOEA, a similar announcement was previously made through Circular No. ASCOEA/ADM/INT/CIR/42B/VI/151, dated June 8, 2024. However, the response from graduates at the time was disappointingly low, prompting the college to reiterate its directive with a firm deadline.

The management clarified that the University of Maiduguri will not entertain individual certificate requests from graduates outside this collective arrangement. Therefore, all affected individuals must process their payments through the coordinated ASCOEA system.

Final warning from management

ASCOEA has made it clear that failure to comply before the November 17, 2025 deadline will lead to the suspension of certificate processing for any non-compliant graduate.

“After the deadline, the College will not enter into any further discussion or correspondence regarding this matter,” the notice stated firmly.

Graduates have been strongly advised to act swiftly to avoid any delays or complications in obtaining their certificates.

ASCOEA’s commitment to transparency

Despite the strict deadline, the management assured graduates that the college remains fully committed to an organized and transparent process.

The statement reaffirmed:

“ASCOEA is dedicated to ensuring all eligible graduates receive their certificates smoothly. We urge everyone concerned to complete their payments on or before the stipulated date.”

Graduates are, therefore, encouraged to log in to the Remita platform, make their ₦20,000 payments, and retain their receipts for verification.
