Al-Istiqama University Celebrates Full Operational License: A Milestone for Education in Kano
Sumaila, Kano State – In a major boost for higher education, the National Universities Commission (NUC) has officially granted Al-Istiqama University in Sumaila a full operational license. This milestone follows a comprehensive assessment conducted earlier this year, marking a new chapter for the institution.
A Journey from Provisional to Full Status
Al-Istiqama University has spent the last three years operating under a provisional license. Thanks to its commitment to meeting NUC guidelines, the university has successfully transitioned to full operational status, allowing it to function without previous restrictions.
Rigorous Assessment Ensures Quality
The NUC’s decision came after an assessment visit from June 2 to June 5, 2024. This visit was crucial in evaluating whether the university met the necessary compliance standards set during its probationary period.
On October 15, 2024, the NUC communicated its satisfaction with Al-Istiqama’s progress in a formal letter. Signed by Mrs. Lydia T. Imoroa, Acting Director of Inspection and Monitoring, the letter confirmed the approval of the full operational license by the NUC Management Committee.
What This Means for Students and Faculty
With the full operational license secured, Al-Istiqama University can now expand its academic offerings and enhance administrative functions. This achievement not only benefits the university but also enriches the educational experience for its students and faculty.
As Al-Istiqama University moves forward, it stands ready to contribute significantly to the educational landscape in Nigeria, preparing its students for a successful future.
