ACE-SPED UNN Postgraduate Admission 2025/2026: Apply for M.Sc, M.Eng, Ph.D, and PGD Programs

The Africa Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Power and Energy Development (ACE-SPED) at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) has officially opened applications for its 2025/2026 postgraduate programmes, offering M.Sc, M.Eng, Ph.D, and Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) courses.

A limited number of scholarships are also available for highly qualified candidates. Applicants are encouraged to submit their forms before the deadline of January 31, 2026.


Available Programmes & Specialisations

Applicants can specialise in the following areas:

  • Renewable and New Energy Systems (M.Sc/M.Eng/Ph.D)
  • Power Engineering (M.Sc/M.Eng/Ph.D)
  • Sustainable Energy Materials Engineering (M.Sc/M.Eng/Ph.D)
  • Industrial Electronics and Power Devices (M.Sc/M.Eng/Ph.D)
  • Control and Instrumentation Engineering (M.Sc/M.Eng/Ph.D)
  • Energy Policy, Regulation and Management (M.Sc/M.Eng/Ph.D)
  • Engineering Design & Product Development (M.Sc/M.Eng/Ph.D)
  • Management of Technology and Innovation (MoTI) (M.Sc/Ph.D)
  • Additive Manufacturing/3D Printing Technology (PGD, 2 semesters/12 months)

Programme Duration:

  • M.Sc: 3 semesters (18 months)
  • Ph.D: 6 semesters (36 months)
  • PGD: 2 semesters (12 months)

Key Dates to Remember

  • Application deadline: 31 January 2026
  • Interviews: 9 February 2026 (physical for residents, virtual for non-residents)
  • Admission notification: 16 February 2026
  • Acceptance deadline: 23 February 2026
  • Session commencement/registration: 23 February 2026

  1. Pay the non-refundable application fee of ₦26,700 via the Remita portal (choose “Application fees”).
  2. Complete the online application form:

Note: Non-Nigerian applicants have their application fees covered by the Centre.
