ABU Zaria Announces 45th Convocation Ceremony, Hosts Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Obasanjo
Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has officially unveiled plans for its 45th Convocation Ceremony, a landmark academic event that will bring together top national and global figures, graduates, and members of the public in January 2026.
The announcement was made in a formal notice issued by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adamu Ahmed, NITP, RTP, FICD, on behalf of the Chancellor, Governing Council, Senate, staff, and students of the university.
ABU has extended an open invitation to members of the university community and the general public to participate in the convocation activities, which will feature two major events: the Pre-Convocation Lecture and the main Convocation Ceremony.
Pre-Convocation Lecture: Global Economic Voice Takes the Stage
The highlight of the pre-convocation activities will be a lecture delivered by Her Excellency, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, GCON, the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
The lecture will be chaired by His Excellency, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, adding significant national and international prestige to the event.
