Abia State Opens Second Batch of 2025 Teachers Recruitment

The Abia State Government, through its Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MOBSE), has officially announced the commencement of the second batch of the 2025 Teachers Recruitment Exercise. Interested applicants can submit their applications online from 6 November to 19 November 2025.

This recruitment drive is part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to address teacher shortages, particularly in underserved and rural public schools across Abia State.

How to Apply

Applicants must complete their submissions online through the Ministry’s official portal:

www.mobse-abiastategov.ng/.The process is free of charge and closes two weeks after opening.

Shortlisted candidates will receive notifications via SMS or email and will be invited to take a Computer-Based Test (CBT). Successful candidates will proceed to an oral interview before final selection.

Eligibility and Pre-qualification

To qualify for the recruitment, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Be under 45 years of age as of 31 December 2025.
  • Hold a recognized teaching qualification such as NCE, Degree, Masters, or PhD.
  • Be residents of Abia State or willing to relocate if non-Abians.
  • Be ready to serve in any part of the state, including rural and riverine areas.
  • Persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply, particularly those with qualifications in Special Needs Education.
  • Applicants without teaching qualifications may apply, but must obtain a recognized teaching certificate within two years of employment.

Applicants must ensure that all academic records are accurately submitted, and the highest qualification is uploaded. Note that names used during application cannot be changed later in the recruitment process.
