AAU Management Sends Warm Wishes, Reinforces Exam Conduct Rules
Ambrose Alli University (AAU) has extended warm wishes to all students as they embark on the second-semester examinations. In a special bulletin released on Monday, 17 November 2025, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Mrs Eunice Ebohserhiemen Omozoje, speaking on behalf of the Governing Council, Senate, staff, and students, reiterated the university’s long-standing rules on student conduct before, during, and after exams, both on and off campus.
Strict Ban on Wild Jubilation
The AAU Management emphasized that wild celebrations are strictly prohibited during the exam period. Students are expected to remain calm and focused on their papers. Actions that are explicitly banned include:
- Pouring water, sand, or drinks on students or staff
- Motor, bike, or bicycle parades to mark exam completion
- Loud shouting, hooting, dancing, or use of alcohol
- Playing loud music or forming crowds around administrative buildings
The Management notes that such activities can result in property damage, personal injury, or disturbances to public peace.
Sanctions for Violating Exam Rules
Students who engage in prohibited acts may face serious disciplinary measures, including cancellation of their examinations. The bulletin underscores that maintaining decorum is essential for a safe and peaceful campus environment.
Why Calm Matters During Exams
AAU explains that a quiet and orderly campus allows:
- Students to concentrate on their exams without distractions
- Staff to conduct examinations efficiently
- Security personnel to manage movement and safety effectively
Students are encouraged to arrive early, focus on their papers, and leave exam halls calmly.
Celebrate at Convocation, Not During Exams
The Management advises that celebrations be reserved for official convocation ceremonies, where achievements such as course completions, awards, and final results can be formally recognized in a structured and safe environment.
No Cars on Campus
The bulletin also reminds students that the prohibition on driving cars into the campus remains in effect. Violators will face penalties in line with university regulations. This measure is aimed at reducing traffic congestion and preventing accidents around academic spaces.
Parents and Well-Wishers Asked to Stay Away
To minimize campus disruption, parents, friends, and other well-wishers are advised to provide support off-campus, allowing students to move freely and staff to manage exams effectively.
Final Note
AAU urges all students to adhere strictly to exam conduct rules, respect the car ban, and ensure that campus life remains safe and focused. Following these guidelines will help maintain a peaceful environment for exams and pave the way for future convocation celebrations.
