UNIBEN Sets October 31 Deadline for 2025/2026 Admission Acceptance
The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has officially announced that all admissions for the 2025/2026 academic session will close on Friday, October 31, 2025.
This update follows a directive from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) during its recent policy meeting with Vice-Chancellors and other key education stakeholders across Nigeria.
Candidates Urged to Accept Admission Before Deadline
According to the university’s management, all candidates offered admission into various undergraduate programs are required to accept their offers either on the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) or the UNIBEN admission portal before the stated deadline.
Failure to do so, the school warned, will lead to automatic withdrawal of the admission offer — meaning affected candidates will forfeit their slots permanently.
The directive applies to both UTME and Direct Entry applicants whose admission details have already been published online.
UNIBEN Vice-Chancellor Congratulates New Students
In his official statement, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Edoba B. Omoregie, SAN, congratulated all newly admitted students on their successful admission. He encouraged them to begin preparations ahead of the start of the new academic year.
“We are proud of your success and look forward to welcoming you into our vibrant academic community,” the Vice-Chancellor stated.
2025/2026 Academic Year to Commence November 10
The 2025/2026 academic session at UNIBEN will commence on Monday, November 10, 2025. Fresh students are expected to resume for registration and orientation on that date, while returning students will receive departmental resumption schedules directly from their respective faculties.
The management emphasized that the university remains dedicated to academic excellence, discipline, and holistic student development.

New students are advised to:
- Accept their admission offers before October 31, 2025.
- Follow official university communication channels for details on hostel allocation, registration procedures, and matriculation dates.
- Avoid relying on third-party information or unofficial platforms.
