Admiralty University Welcomes Students for 2025/2026 Session, Sets Phased Resumption and Hostel Guidelines
The Vice Chancellor of the Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN), Professor Christopher Ndubisi Ogbogbo, has officially welcomed all students—both new and returning—to the 2025/2026 academic session.
In his statement, Prof. Ogbogbo congratulated the newly admitted students and assured the university community of a smooth and well-coordinated resumption process.
To ensure a seamless start to the new academic year, the university’s management, through the Student Welfare Board, has approved a phased resumption schedule and introduced new accommodation guidelines to manage limited on-campus housing.
Academic Calendar and Resumption Plan
Following Senate approval, ADUN has released a clear timetable for student resumption and registration activities:
- New Students (100 Level): Resume on Sunday, October 26, 2025, between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
- Registration and orientation begin on Monday, October 27, 2025.
- Returning Students: Resume on Sunday, November 2, 2025.
- Registration begins on Monday, November 3, 2025.
- First Semester Lectures: Commence for all students on Monday, November 3, 2025.
This structured schedule, according to the university, will allow students to settle in easily and ensure that classes begin without delay or disruption.
Hostel Accommodation Guidelines
Given the current hostel space constraints, accommodation will be allocated in phases. On October 26, 2025, only the following categories of students will be admitted into the hostels:
- All 100-Level (Fresh) Students
- All 400-Level Students (except those in the Faculty of Law)
Students in 200-Level, 300-Level, and 400-Level Law are advised to arrange off-campus accommodation ahead of time. The management urged parents and guardians to assist their wards in securing safe housing.
The university has directed hostel staff to strictly enforce accommodation rules and monitor compliance throughout the session.
Code of Conduct and Campus Regulations
ADUN management has emphasized that all students must maintain discipline, decency, and responsibility both within and outside the campus.
Key regulations include:
- Financial Clearance: Students must present proof of full fee payment from the Bursary Unit before receiving hostel keys.
- Safety: Students are responsible for the security of personal belongings.
- Prohibited Items: Devices such as electric heaters (unless medically approved), sex toys, illicit substances, and certain food items (noodles, spaghetti, custard) are banned. Students are advised to eat at the University Cafeteria.
- Dress Code: Torn jeans, low-waist trousers, revealing tops, and dreadlocks are strictly prohibited.
- Security and Conduct: Fighting, vandalism, and participation in unauthorized social media groups are not tolerated. Students leaving campus must obtain a movement pass.
Required Documents for New Students
All fresh students who have not completed their admission process must submit six photocopies of the following documents:
- ADUN Admission Letter
- JAMB Admission Letter or Result Slip
- Evidence of School Fee Payment
- O’Level Results
- State of Origin Certificate and Birth Certificate (or Age Affidavit)
- Sponsorship Letter (if applicable)
- Medical Fitness Certificate from a Government Hospital
- Fourteen (14) Passport Photographs
- Proof of Post-UTME Registration Fee Payment
Welcoming Support and Student Welfare
The Student Welfare Board, chaired by Professor Bernard Onyekweli Ejechi, has assured all students—especially freshers—of a supportive and inclusive environment.
The board has planned orientation programmes and guided campus tours to help students adjust quickly to life at ADUN.
According to Prof. Ejechi, these efforts are part of the university’s mission to create a safe, academically vibrant, and student-friendly campus that prepares learners for global excellence.
For more information, students are encouraged to visit the official ADUN website or contact the Student Welfare Office.
