Admission Process and Requirements
For ND Full-Time Candidates:
Applicants must apply through JAMB CAPS and obtain a minimum score of 100 in the 2025/2026 UTME. Candidates who initially chose another polytechnic but wish to study at Dorben Polytechnic can apply for a change of institution on the JAMB Portal.
Steps to Register via JAMB CAPS:
- Create a JAMB CAPS account
- Link your email and phone number to your JAMB profile
- Monitor your admission status on the portal
- Once admitted, accept the offer, print the admission letter, and present it at the Dorben Polytechnic Admission Office for verification
Registration and Documentation
Successful candidates are to complete registration with:
- JAMB UTME result slip
- O’Level result(s)
- Birth certificate
- State of origin certificate
Note: HND candidates below 30 years admitted on a full-time basis will be eligible for NYSC mobilisation after graduation.
General Admission Requirements
For ND Programmes:
- Five (5) O’Level credits including English Language and Mathematics
- Minimum of 100 JAMB UTME points (for ND full-time applicants)
For HND Programmes:
- ND in a related field with at least Lower Credit from a recognised polytechnic
- Five (5) O’Level credits including English Language and Mathematics
- One-year industrial training experience
Special Considerations
To promote inclusiveness, the institution has approved a 20% tuition scholarship for:
- Military and paramilitary personnel recommended by their offices
- Female students pursuing Science and Engineering programmes
