According to JAMB, a total of 1,940,000 candidates registered and sat for the examination, which was conducted in 118 towns and over 700 centers across the country. The Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, announced the release of the results at a press conference held in Abuja. He commended the efforts of the board, examination officials, and security agencies in ensuring a smooth and transparent examination process.

Prof. Oloyede stated, “We are pleased to announce that the 2024 UTME results are now available for candidates to access. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we were able to conduct a successful examination while adhering to all necessary health and safety protocols.”

Candidates can now check their results by visiting the JAMB website (www.jamb.gov.ng) and logging into their profiles using their unique registration numbers. They are advised to print their result slips, which will be required for the admission process into various tertiary institutions.

The Registrar also highlighted the improved performance of candidates in the 2024 UTME compared to previous years. He attributed this to the enhanced quality of the examination questions and the efforts put in place by JAMB to ensure a level playing field for all candidates.

JAMB has forwarded the results to the various tertiary institutions for the commencement of the admission process. Candidates are advised to visit the websites of their chosen institutions for information on cut-off marks, departmental requirements, and other admission criteria.

Prof. Oloyede emphasized that the board will continue to work closely with tertiary institutions and other stakeholders to ensure a seamless and merit-based admission process. He also warned candidates against falling prey to fraudsters who may promise them admission or manipulate their results for a fee.

The 2024 UTME was conducted using the Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode, which has been in use since 2013. The CBT mode has significantly reduced examination malpractice and improved the efficiency of the examination process.

Candidates who have any complaints or inquiries regarding their results are advised to contact JAMB through its official communication channels. The board has assured the public of its commitment to transparency and fairness in the conduct of the UTME and the subsequent admission process.
