UNIBEN Mop-Up Post-UTME & Direct Entry Applications: Final Deadline Announced
The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has issued a final call to all prospective candidates for its 2025/2026 Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening exercise, warning that the mop-up application window will officially close by midnight on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
According to the institution, venue and exam schedule printing will commence at 12 noon on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, giving applicants enough time to confirm their details before the screening exercise kicks off.
The Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening is scheduled to hold from Monday, September 1 to Saturday, September 6, 2025, physically at the Ugbowo campus in Benin City.
Who is Eligible?
To qualify for the screening exercise, candidates must:
- Have chosen UNIBEN as their first choice during JAMB registration.
- Score 200 and above in UTME (for Post-UTME applicants).
- Possess at least five O’Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics (in not more than two sittings).
- Have a valid email address for registration and communication.
How to Apply
The application portal opened on Monday, August 4, 2025, and will remain active until midnight on Friday, August 22, 2025.
Steps for registration include:
- Visit the UNIBEN website
- Click on Application Menu → Begin Application Process.
- Enter your JAMB Registration Number, UTME score, and create a password.
- Log in using your JAMB details to complete the form.
- Pay the ₦2,000 screening fee via Remita using a valid ATM card.
- Review your application carefully before submission (no corrections allowed afterward).
- Print your acknowledgment slip and screening invitation containing your exam date, time, and venue.
Screening Groups
UNIBEN organizes candidates into different groups for orderliness:
- Group 1 – Physical Sciences: Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Technical Education, etc.
- Group 2 – Life Sciences: Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine, etc.
- Group 3 – Social Sciences: Education (Social Sciences), Library & Information Science, Counseling, etc.
- Group 4 – Management Sciences: Accounting, Economics, Marketing, Statistics, etc.
- Group 5 – Arts: Law, Arts, Education (Arts).
Exam Day Guidelines
Candidates are strongly advised to:
- Arrive at least one hour before their exam time.
- Bring along their acknowledgment slip and screening invitation slip.
- Leave phones, calculators, and electronic gadgets at home as they are not permitted in the exam hall.
