LASU 2025/2026 Pre-Degree Programme: Your Second Chance to Secure University Admission

Lagos State University (LASU) has officially opened applications for its Pre-Degree Studies (PDS) programme for the 2025/2026 academic session — a golden opportunity for students who want to strengthen their O’Level results, improve their UTME scores, and secure admission into LASU without starting from scratch.

Why This Matters

For many JAMB candidates, passing UTME is only half the battle — the real struggle is beating the national admission competition. The LASU PDS programme is designed to tilt the odds in your favor by providing:

  • A dedicated admission quota for PDS graduates.
  • Intensive, year-long academic training on campus.
  • A proven record of success — last session, 89% of PDS students scored 200+ in UTME, with some breaking the 300 mark.

This isn’t just extra classes — it’s a structured residential programme at the LASU Epe campus, combining academic preparation, WAEC/NECO resits, and UTME readiness all in one package.

Admission Requirements

Before you pack your bags for Epe, make sure you qualify:

  1. O’Level Credits: At least 3 credit passes in Mathematics, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Government, Economics, Literature, CRS, IRS, or Accounting — obtained in no more than two sittings (SSCE, GCE, or NECO).
  2. Qualifying Exam: Only candidates who meet the O’Level requirement will write the entrance exam.
  3. Subject Combination: You’ll study from the same list of approved subjects to prepare for UTME and any needed O’Level resits.

How to Progress from PDS to 100 Level

Admission into the main LASU undergraduate programme is straightforward for successful PDS students:

  • Sit for UTME and meet the JAMB cut-off for your chosen course.
  • Pass LASU’s internal screening.
  • Resolve any O’Level deficiencies through WAEC or NECO resits.

Once you scale through, you can gain admission into top faculties like Engineering, Science, Law, Education, Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Agriculture, Transport, Mass Communication, Nursing, Dentistry, or Medicine.

How to Apply

  • Application Fee: ₦15,000.
  • Payment: Visit the LASU website, click MAKE PAYMENT, then proceed to complete your online registration.
