Grooming Centre University Grant 2025: How Nigerian Students Can Get Up to ₦200,000 for Life-Changing Research
Some opportunities knock. Others arrive carrying a basket full of possibilities. The Grooming Centre University Grant Scheme 2025 is definitely the latter — offering Nigerian students the chance to turn their research into real-world solutions that can change lives.
Now in its 7th year, the scheme continues its mission: funding innovative research in areas that can lift communities out of poverty, including financial inclusion, rural development, social enterprise, MSMEs, technology for communities, women and youth development, and other studies that address real societal challenges.
Who Can Apply?
The grant is open to:
- Undergraduates in any Nigerian university or polytechnic
- Postgraduates in any Nigerian university or polytechnic
Your research must:
- Be in one of the listed focus areas
- Show original ideas and fresh thinking
- Use data-backed research
- Be supervised by an academic who will provide a signed recommendation
No age, gender, religion, or ethnicity restrictions — every eligible student has a fair chance.
Grant Benefits
- ₦100,000 for each selected undergraduate
- ₦200,000 for each selected postgraduate
- 100 slots for undergraduates
- 50 slots for postgraduates
What to Submit
Applicants must prepare a 10–20 page research concept paper with:
- Introduction
- Problem statement
- Research questions and objectives
- Significance of the study
- Scope and definitions
- Literature and theoretical review (2019–2025 references)
- Hypotheses, methodology, and data collection plan
- Reliability and validity checks
- Ethical considerations
- References (APA 6 style)
You also need to submit:
- Your personal profile
- Final soft copy of the completed research after the grant period
- Format: Microsoft Word, Times New Roman, font size 12, line spacing 1.5
