University of Maiduguri Opens Admission for 2024/2025 Remedial Programmes

The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has officially begun the sale of application forms for its 2024/2025 remedial programmes, offering fresh opportunities for students aiming to secure university admission in the next academic session.
The remedial programmes available include Remedial Arts, Remedial Science, and Preliminary French. Successful candidates will progress into Part One (100 level) of their chosen undergraduate course in the 2025/2026 academic session — but only if they meet all university and JAMB requirements.

Admission Requirements
To be eligible for any of the remedial programmes, candidates must:
- Have sat for their O’ Level (WAEC, NECO, or equivalent) examinations.
- Hold at least five credits, obtained in no more than two sittings, including English and Mathematics.
- Have three additional credits relevant to the chosen programme.
- Register for the 2025/2026 UTME (JAMB) and score a minimum of 160 points.
The university has emphasized that meeting these requirements is compulsory, and incomplete or ineligible applications may be rejected without explanation.

How to Apply
To obtain the application form:
- Visit the University of Maiduguri Microfinance Bank and make the required payment.
- Collect the application form at the bank.
- Take your bank teller to the Bursary Department to get an official receipt.
- With your receipt, proceed to the Directorate of Remedial Studies to collect your application form.
Submit Your Application
Once the form is filled, submit it to the Directorate of Remedial Studies Office through:
- Hand delivery
- Registered post
- Standard mail
Required Attachments:
- One recent passport-sized photograph (certified and stapled to the form)
- Photocopies of your academic certificates
- Photocopy of the receipt issued for your application form
- Certificate of Local Government Indigene
