Nigerian Women Can Now Return to Work with Help from this N100,000 Scholarship
Taking a break from work can feel like hitting pause on your entire career — and for many women in Nigeria, pressing play again isn’t easy. Whether it’s due to family responsibilities or other life demands, returning to work after a long gap often means starting from scratch. But one Nigerian foundation is stepping in to change that.
The Zeribe Nwosu Foundation (ZNF) is offering a scholarship worth ₦100,000 to help women who’ve been out of work for at least one year get back on track through online learning. The goal? To refresh their skills, build new ones, and open doors to better job opportunities.
Here’s everything you need to know about this opportunity — who it’s for, how to apply, and why it matters.
Why This Matters
In Nigeria, and in many lower-income countries, women are more likely than men to leave the workforce — often to care for children or other family members. Unfortunately, there are few programs designed to help them return. That means fewer women rise to leadership roles, and many miss out on using their education to its full potential.
The Zeribe Nwosu Foundation wants to change that.
What Is the Zeribe Nwosu Scholarship?
This annual scholarship program started three years ago. It supports Nigerian women who want to study online after taking a break from their careers. Whether you need to update your knowledge or learn something entirely new, this scholarship could cover your learning costs.
Each selected woman will receive ₦100,000 — enough to pay for quality online courses and necessary study tools.

- You are a Nigerian woman currently living in Nigeria.
- You graduated from a university or polytechnic in Nigeria.
