Shell Announces 2025 Sabbatical Programme for University Lecturers – Apply Now!
Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) is offering a unique opportunity for senior university lecturers to gain valuable industry experience and contribute to key research projects in Nigeria. The 2025 Sabbatical Attachment Programme invites eligible candidates from various academic disciplines to apply for a 12-month sabbatical at Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCIN).
What is the Sabbatical Programme?
This programme allows university lecturers to collaborate with Shell on important research, community initiatives, and development projects. Participants will also have the chance to teach at Shell’s Centres of Excellence (CoEs), gaining first-hand experience in the energy and corporate sectors. It’s an exciting opportunity for senior academics to blend teaching with real-world industry exposure.
Who Can Apply?
The programme is open to university lecturers (senior lecturers and above) from a wide range of fields, including:
- Environment: Impact Assessment, Biodiversity, Environmental Toxicology, Air Quality, Hydrobiology, Water Chemistry, Hydrogeology, Ecology.
- Corporate Relations: Social Impact Assessment and Management, Host Community Development Trust (HCDT), Stakeholder Relations.
- Community Health: Community Health, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Paediatrics.
- Nigerian Content Development: Engineering, especially Process and Project Engineering.
- Real Estate: Civil Engineering (with a minimum of 3 years of experience).
- Geosciences and Petroleum Engineering: Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering (University of Benin).
- Marine and Offshore Engineering: Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture (Rivers State University).
- Environmental Management and Green Energy: Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Microbiology, or Biotechnology (University of Nigeria, Nsukka).
