Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has officially unveiled the timetable for the 2023/2024 Special Resit Examinations, providing a crucial opportunity for eligible students to complete their outstanding courses. This decision was confirmed during the 539th Regular Meeting of the Senate.

Important Dates to Remember

If you are eligible for the resit, mark these key dates on your calendar:

  • Registration: Opens on Monday, October 21, 2024, and closes on Saturday, October 26, 2024.
  • Revision Period: Runs from Monday, October 21, 2024, to Saturday, November 2, 2024.
  • Examination Dates: Scheduled from Monday, November 4, 2024, to Saturday, November 9, 2024.

Examination Fees

Students should also be aware of the associated fees:

  • Registration Fee: ₦10,000.00
  • Charge per Course: ₦5,000.00

Who Is Eligible?

The Special Resit Examination is available to specific groups of students who are unable to graduate due to outstanding courses:

  • Final Year Students: Those with no more than four (4) outstanding courses are eligible. Final year students whose residency has not expired can decide whether to participate.
  • Veterinary Medicine Students: 300, 500, and 600 level students in this faculty are eligible.
  • Medical Sciences Students: 300 level students in pre-clinical programs may also take the resit.

Important Notes

During the Special Resit Examination, students can only earn the minimum passing score for their courses:

  • Classified Degrees: Maximum score of 40%
  • Unclassified Degrees: Maximum score of 50%
