The long-awaited moment has finally arrived for Nigerian students. JAMB CAPS 2026/2027 admission list is now officially live, and several universities have already begun uploading their admission decisions on the JAMB CAPS portal. Whether you’re waiting for your name to appear or curious about the process, this update is crucial for your university journey. Let’s break down what’s happening and what you need to do next.
JAMB CAPS Portal Now Active for 2026/2027 Admissions
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has activated the CAPS (Centralized Admissions Processing System) platform for the 2026/2027 admission session. This system streamlines how Nigerian universities release admission offers, making the process transparent and accessible to all qualified candidates.
According to recent updates, universities including the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) and Osun State University (UNIOSUN) have commenced uploading their admission lists. Additionally, FUST Kabo and the University of Jos are among institutions already processing admissions through the portal. This staggered release means more candidates will see their status in the coming days.
Universities Uploading Admission Lists
Several top-tier institutions are leading the way:
- University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) – Now releasing both Supplementary and Direct Entry admission offers
- Osun State University (UNIOSUN) – Commenced admission release via JAMB CAPS
- FUST Kabo – Admission list already on JAMB CAPS
- University of Jos – Providing admission updates through the system
More institutions are expected to follow soon, so keep checking the portal regularly if your preferred university hasn’t uploaded yet.
How to Check Your JAMB CAPS Admission Status
The process is straightforward. Visit the official JAMB CAPS portal, log in with your credentials, and navigate to the admission status section. You’ll see whether you’ve been admitted, placed on supplementary list, or need to take further action.
Furthermore, ensure you’re checking only official channels to avoid falling victim to scams. The authentic JAMB CAPS portal displays all verified universities and their admission lists.
What This Means for Direct Entry Candidates
Direct Entry applicants should note that universities like UNN are already uploading Direct Entry admission lists. This is important because Direct Entry admission often comes after UTME admissions, so if you applied via this route, your status may appear soon. Direct Entry admission guide Nigeria
