UI Begins 2025/2026 Hall Application Process
The University of Ibadan (UI) has officially opened its Accommodation Module for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The portal window runs from February 17 to February 23, 2026, and is strictly for:
- Fresh undergraduate students
- Final-year (returning) undergraduate students
Students who fail to apply within this window will not be eligible for hall allocation during this phase.
Who Can Apply Now — And Who Should Wait
UI has made it clear that only two categories of students can access the portal during this period:
Eligible (Feb 17–23, 2026)
- Fresh students
- Final-year returning students
Not Yet Eligible
- Other returning undergraduates (non-final year students)
- Postgraduate students
These groups will receive access to the Accommodation Module at a later date.
Where to Apply
All applications must be submitted through the official UI student portal. UI student portal login for hall application
Applicants should log in via the UI student portal login page and navigate to the Hall application section.
Important: Only students who apply on the portal will be considered for bed spaces in the Halls of Residence (HoRs).
Step-by-Step Guide to Apply for UI Hall Accommodation
Here is a simplified breakdown of the application process:
Log in
Access the UI student portal.
Click “Hall”
On the dashboard, select the “Hall” button.
Two sections will appear:
- Hall Application
- Hall Allocation
Fill the Hall Application Form
- Click “Hall Application”
- Enter your Next-of-Kin details
- Click “Save Next-of-Kin”
Upload Required Documents
- Upload a recent coloured passport photograph
- White background
- Maximum size: 1MB
Provide Additional Information
- Accommodation history
- Health challenges (if any)
- Jaja registration status (for returning students)
Special Notice for Returning Students (Jaja Registration)
Returning final-year students will see the question:
“Have you completed the Jaja registration?”
- If Yes, the system will verify from the database.
- If confirmed → You can proceed.
- If not found → You cannot submit the application.
Fresh students will NOT see the Jaja registration question.
Final Step: Submit Your Application
After completing all required sections:
Click “Submit”
A saved form is NOT a submitted form.
Students must click Submit to complete the process.
How to Check Hall Allocation Status
After submission:
- Go back to the “Hall Allocation” page.
- Regularly check for the Hall Warden’s decision.
If approved, your status will change from:
Registered → Accepted
How to Pay Hall Fees and Secure Your Room
Once your status reads “Accepted”, follow these steps:
Step 1: Pay Hall Fee First
- Click “Fees”
- Select “My Fees”
- Choose Hall Fee
- Make payment
After payment:
- Click “Fees”
- Select “Transactions”
- Click “View” to download/print receipt
Step 2: Pay Basic Hall Dues
Repeat the same process for:
- Basic Hall Dues (Compulsory)
- Optional Hall Dues (Optional)
Basic Hall Dues must be paid before room allocation.
When Will Room Number Be Assigned?
After payment confirmation by UI:
- Status changes to Paid
- Hall Warden assigns a room
- Room number appears on the Hall Allocation page
Documents Required for Key Collection
Students must print in colour:
- Accommodation Slip
- Hall Identity Card
Upon arrival at the Hall of Residence, room keys will only be released after presenting both documents.
