UNIABUJA Sets Feb 12 for 2026 Matriculation, Releases Gown Collection Guidelines for Fresh Students

The University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) has officially announced the schedule and guidelines for the collection and return of matriculation gowns ahead of its 2026 Matriculation Ceremony, slated for Thursday, February 12, 2026.

In a notice issued to newly admitted students, the university emphasized early preparation, warning that late return of academic gowns will attract a daily penalty of ₦5,000.

How and Where to Collect Matriculation Gowns

UNIABUJA directed all fresh students to collect their academic gowns from their respective Faculty Officers.

To be eligible for gown collection, students must present a duly stamped school fees receipt. The university stressed that this receipt is mandatory and will be verified before any gown is issued.

Gown Return Instructions

Students are required to return their matriculation gowns immediately after the ceremony on February 12. UNIABUJA made it clear that gowns are not to be kept beyond the event day.

Late Return Penalty

Any student who fails to return the gown as directed will be charged a penalty of ₦5,000 per day. The university warned that the fine accumulates daily, urging students to comply strictly to avoid unnecessary costs.
