Federal College of Horticulture Dadin-Kowa Begins Walk-In Admissions

Prospective students seeking quick admission into a federal institution now have a clear window of opportunity. The Federal College of Horticulture, Dadin-Kowa (FCHDK), Gombe State, has announced an on-the-spot admission exercise scheduled to run from Monday, January 19 to Saturday, January 31, 2026.

The exercise will take place daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the College Temporary Site, and qualified candidates are expected to show up, present their documents, and receive their admission letters immediately, provided they meet the requirements.

Who Is Eligible?

In a move aimed at widening access, the college made it clear that JAMB is not compulsory for participation. According to the notice, the on-the-spot admission is open to:

  • Candidates with or without JAMB results
  • Applicants from Science backgrounds
  • Applicants from Social Science backgrounds
  • Candidates with SSCE results (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB)

This means that candidates who may not have written JAMB—or are still awaiting further placement—can still secure admission, as long as they possess valid SSCE results.

Documents Required

Applicants are advised to come fully prepared to avoid unnecessary delays. The college directed candidates to bring the following documents:

  • SSCE result (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB)
  • JAMB result printout (if available)

These documents are required for the collection of admission letters. Candidates who arrive without them risk wasting the trip.

NELFUND Support for Students

The announcement also highlighted NELFUND enrolment for eligible students, offering financial relief to those worried about school fees. The message was direct: “No school fees? No problem!”—a reassurance that qualified candidates can explore funding support through NELFUND.

Key Dates, Time, and Venue at a Glance

  • Admission Period: Monday, January 19 – Saturday, January 31, 2026
  • Time: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. daily
  • Venue: College Temporary Site, FCHDK, Gombe State

The college emphasized that admissions will be handled strictly within these dates and at the stated venue. Prospective students are therefore advised to plan their visit early and within the admission window.

Final Note

With its flexible requirements and walk-in approach, the Federal College of Horticulture Dadin-Kowa’s on-the-spot admission offers a rare chance for candidates to secure placement without long delays. For many, it could be the fastest route into a federal tertiary institution in 2026.
