UNIABUJA Opens 2025/2026 Admissions for Sultan Maccido Institute PGD, MSc, PhD & Certificate Programs

The Sultan Maccido Institute for Peace, Leadership and Development Studies at the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) has officially opened admissions for its professional and postgraduate programs for the 2025/2026 academic session. Interested candidates across various disciplines are encouraged to apply online via the UNIABUJA application portal.

Admission Requirements:

  • Minimum five (5) O’level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in no more than two sittings.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least Second Class Lower; for PGD, HND Lower Credit or equivalent is accepted.
  • NYSC discharge certificate or exemption letter.
  • For Professional PhD, applicants must hold a basic degree, a professional master’s, and an MSc in a relevant field.

Screening & Program Duration:
All applicants will undergo a screening exercise to confirm eligibility. Program durations are:

  • PGD: 9–24 months
  • Master’s (MSc): 18–35 months
  • Professional PhD: 3–7 years
  • Certificate courses: variable

Application Process & Fee:
Applications must be submitted online via the UNIABUJA portal.

  • Application fee: ₦20,500 (Nigerian applicants); foreign applicants pay the equivalent.
