BUK Sets January Deadline for Mandatory Student Documentation
Bayero University Kano (BUK) has announced a compulsory documentation and screening exercise for all Level 100 and Level 200 undergraduate students admitted in the 2024/2025 academic session.
According to the university, the exercise is mandatory and failure to participate may delay or affect a student’s academic records. The directive is clear: every affected student must appear in person with complete documentation.
Documentation Dates and Venue
The documentation exercise will run for two weeks:
- Start Date: Monday, 19 January 2026
- End Date: Friday, 30 January 2026

Directorate of Examinations, Admissions and Records,
New Campus, Bayero University Kano (BUK)
Who Must Participate?
The exercise applies to:
- All current Level 100 students, and
- All current Level 200 students,
provided they were admitted in the 2024/2025 academic session.
This includes UTME and Direct Entry candidates, though some required documents differ between the two categories.
Documents Required (Originals and Photocopies)
BUK has instructed students to come with both original documents and photocopies. Missing documents may delay documentation.
Core Documents for All Students
All affected students must present:
- JAMB Admission Letter
- BUK Admission Letter
- Printed O’level result(s) with result checker card attached (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, NBAIS, etc.)
- Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age
- Completed Undertaking Form
- Evidence of payment of acceptance fees
- Certificate of Medical Fitness
- Two (2) recent passport photographs
Additional Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates
Direct Entry students are also required to bring:
- JAMB Acknowledgement Slip
- BUK Direct Entry Screening Acknowledgement Slip
- A’ Level Statement of Result (Direct Entry only)
Additional Requirement for UTME Candidates
UTME candidates should come with:
- JAMB Result Slip
Optional Document
The university listed the following as optional:
- Primary School Leaving Certificate or Testimonial (if available)

BUK emphasized that this documentation exercise is compulsory for all students covered by the notice. Students are strongly advised to prepare early, ensure all documents are complete, and attend within the scheduled dates.
