FUTMINNA Fixes January 25, 2026 as Final Deadline for 2025/2026 Student Registration

The Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA) has officially announced Sunday, January 25, 2026, as the final deadline for student registration for the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

The decision affects all fresh and returning undergraduate students of the university, according to an internal memo dated January 9, 2026, issued by the Academic Office of the Registry Department.

The university warned that the registration portal will close at exactly midnight on the deadline day, and students who fail to complete their registration on time may face penalties in line with university regulations.

What the FUTMINNA Memo Says

The memo, which was signed on behalf of the Registrar by Mrs. Omolola O. Alhassan, Deputy Registrar (Academic), clearly states that:

“The registration exercise for the 2025/2026 Academic Session will end at midnight on Sunday, January 25, 2026.”

It further instructs all students to complete every part of their registration process before the deadline, warning that late registration may attract sanctions as provided by the university’s rules.

Who Received the Official Memo

To ensure full compliance across the institution, copies of the memo were sent to top university officials, including:

  • The Vice-Chancellor
  • Deputy Vice-Chancellors (Academic and Administration)
  • The Bursar
  • The Librarian
  • The Registrar
  • All Deans, Directors, and Heads of Departments

This wide circulation confirms that the directive is an official, university-wide policy.

What FUTMINNA Students Must Do Now

All undergraduate students — whether newly admitted or returning — are advised to:

  • Complete course registration
  • Pay all required school fees
  • Submit all academic and personal records
  • Ensure their online registration portal status is fully cleared

All these must be done on or before Sunday, January 25, 2026, because the system will shut down at midnight.

Why This Deadline Matters

Missing the registration cut-off could lead to:

  • Late registration penalties
  • Inability to sit for exams
  • Loss of studentship for the session

Students are therefore urged to act immediately to avoid unnecessary academic setbacks.
