Olabisi Onabanjo University Postpones Freshers’ Orientation Programme

Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) has announced a postponement of the orientation programme for new students in the 2025/2026 academic session.

The orientation, initially scheduled to run from Monday, 1 December to Friday, 5 December 2025, has been put on hold, according to a statement released by the Registrar, Dr. Bayo Orukotan, on 28 November 2025. The university management confirmed that a new timetable will be communicated in due course.

What the Orientation Entailed
The week-long programme was designed to help freshers settle into campus life, understand university rules, meet key staff members, and learn how to access essential services, including registration points and student support channels. Such sessions are crucial in making the start of the academic year smooth and less stressful for new students.

Message from the University Management
Dr. Orukotan, on behalf of OOU management, thanked students for their patience and cooperation during this rescheduling. He emphasized that the 2025/2026 academic session will continue as planned, and only the orientation dates have been affected.

Students and parents are urged to follow official OOU communication channels for updates on the rescheduled orientation programme.
