UNILAG Extends Hostel Accommodation Deadline for 2025/2026 Academic Session
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has officially extended the deadline for hostel accommodation applications for the 2025/2026 academic session by one week. Eligible students now have until 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, 27 November 2025 to complete their applications for bed spaces in the university’s halls of residence.
Following the closure of applications, the hostel balloting exercise will take place on Friday, 28 November 2025, determining room allocation for all qualified applicants.

Who Can Apply
Only students who meet all the following criteria are eligible for hostel bed spaces:
- Registered 200 to 500 level students
- Completed course registration for the 1st semester of the 2025/2026 session
- Within the regular duration of their programme
Students who do not meet these conditions are not allowed to participate in the balloting exercise.

- Log in to the student portal with valid credentials
- Ensure course registration for the 1st semester is complete
- Navigate to the hostel accommodation section
- Submit an application for a hall bed space
- Confirm successful submission before the deadline
- Keep a copy of the application for reference
How Hostel Balloting Works
All valid applications received by the deadline will be included in a random balloting process. Key points:
- Bed spaces are allocated randomly, not manually
- Every eligible applicant has a chance of being selected
- Balloting will be conducted on Friday, 28 November 2025

Restrictions on Eligibility
Certain students are excluded from this hostel allocation process:
- Residents of El-Kannemi Hall 2
- Residents of Gbajabiamila Hall
- Members of UNILAG Women Society (ULWS)
- Students in similar excluded hostels
The Student Affairs Division maintains the official list. Students from excluded hostels attempting to join the ballot will face disciplinary action for social misconduct.
