1.84 Million Results Released as JAMB Publishes 2024 UTME Scores

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced the release of the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results. Out of the 1.98 million candidates who sat for the examination, the results of 1,842,464 candidates have been successfully released.

In a press briefing held at the JAMB headquarters in Abuja, the Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, disclosed that the results were released after a thorough evaluation and scoring process. He stated, “We are pleased to announce that the results of the 2024 UTME are now available. Out of the total number of candidates who took the examination, we have released the results of 1,842,464 candidates, representing 93% of the total number of candidates.”

Prof. Oloyede further explained that the remaining results, which account for approximately 7% of the total number of candidates, are undergoing further scrutiny and verification due to various irregularities and malpractices detected during the examination process. These results will be released as soon as the investigations are concluded.

Candidates who sat for the 2024 UTME can now check their results by visiting the JAMB official website and logging into their profiles using their unique registration numbers. They are advised to print their result slips for future reference and use in the admission process.

The Registrar also highlighted the improved performance of candidates in the 2024 UTME compared to previous years. He attributed this improvement to the enhanced quality of the examination questions and the stringent measures put in place by JAMB to curb examination malpractice.

JAMB has forwarded the released results to the various tertiary institutions for the commencement of the admission process. Candidates are advised to visit the websites of their chosen institutions for information on the admission criteria, cut-off marks, and other relevant details.

Prof. Oloyede emphasized that JAMB will continue to work closely with tertiary institutions, security agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth and transparent admission process. He also urged candidates to be wary of fraudulent individuals and organizations who may attempt to exploit them during this period.

The 2024 UTME, which was conducted in May, is a prerequisite examination for admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria, including universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. The examination assesses candidates’ knowledge in various subjects and is used by institutions to determine the suitability of candidates for their desired programs of study.

For further information and updates, candidates are advised to visit the JAMB official website and follow the board’s social media handles. They can also contact JAMB’s helpdesk through the provided channels for any inquiries or clarifications.
