A colony of volvox is a group of similar cells joined by strands of protoplasm. The cells are specialised and cannot live independent life. Some of the ceils are specialised for reproduction while others are for photosynthesis and movement. Paramecium is a unicellular animal (protozoon). Euglena is a unicellular organism which has both plant and animal features while chlamydomonas is a unicellular plant.
