Explanation

Exo - erythrocytic, is the second time the malaria parasites (merozoites)undergo asexual' reproduction inside the liver cells providing a lot of the parasites These parasites remain in the live unaffected by malaria drugs until the resistance of the host (man) is lowered. These parasites enter the blood stream and if left untreatedat this point re-invades the liver cells to continue their multiplication orexo-erythrocytic phase. The initial multiplication of the parasites inside the liver cells is known as pre-erthrocytic phase. Immediately the infected female anopheles mosquito bites man, it injects malaria parasites, (sporozoites) into the blood stream. Half an hour after this invasion the parasites (sporozoites)disappear from the blood stream and invade the liver cells and begin pre-erythrocytic phase.
