Correct Answer
C
Explanation
Gene Lamarck states that any part of the body or organ of an organism that is in constant use developes and becomes very active while the one that is not in use slowly degenerates, becomes functionless or disappears completely. Robert Hooke discovered cells. He examined thin slices of cork tissues under a microscope and found many neatly arranged little chambers or cavities each enclosed by wails like honey combs. He called these chambers cells. Charles Darwin proposed the theory of natural selection. This theory states that when organisms reproduce offspring in large numbers thatthe environment cannot contain, competition occurs dunng which nature selects the fittest ones while the weak ones are allowed to die away. Alfred Wallace - a British naturalist is regarded by biologists as a co-founder of theory of evolution by natural selection. Natural selection is the selection of certain organisms (e.g. plants) during competition for certain basic needs (light, nutrient and space) to live to reproductive stage while the less fittest die away.
