This council was inherited from the League of Nations. The trust territories were those countries which were formerly under German,Italian and Japanese rule before the Second World War. These powers were defeatedduring World War 11.(19239-1945) and those countries which had earlier beenruled were now sized and placed under trusteeship Council. The seizedterritories included the following: 1. Cameroon, Togo, Tanganyika etc.Functionsof the Trusteeship Council i. It helps to advance the trust territoriesto self-government.ii. It co-ordinates the trust territories andpromotes the welfare of the native inhabitants.iii.
