in his prayer to God for favour in the sight of the king, he described God as one who keeps covenants and shows steadfast love to those who obey His commandments. He asked God to listen to the prayers he had been offering on behalf of the whole of Israel, confessing their sins of corruption disobedience. He reminded God of His promise to make the Jewish exiles return to their land on repentance.
