Anaemia is shortage of red blood ceils in the body. The redbone marrow requires iron to form haemglobin found in each red blood cell. Goitre - is the enlargement of the thyroid gland and is oftwo types. Hyper plastic goitre is causedby low iodine intake which results in low level of thyroxine production in ourbody. in response to this, the thyroidgland is subjected to prolonged stimulation by the thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH) produced by pituitary gland. Consequent upon this, the thyroid glandbulges out at the neck region. This is cured by adding of iodine supplement inour diet.Exophthalmic goitre is caused by the over secretion ofthyroxine which increases the rate of body metabolism. This makes the individualirritable nervous with bulging eyes It is cured through surgical removal ofpart the thyroid gland or destruction of some of the thyroid cells byradiation.
