Proboscis is a modified. mouth parts of some insects used for sucking liquid food such as nectars and blood. Amphibians have sticky tongue usually thrown out to catch insects. Tapeworms are ribbon-like with thin wall or easy diffusion of food from the host. Molluscs such as snails and slugs use sharp tongue called radula for herbivorous feeding, clams, oysters and scallops are filter feeders while octopuses use sharp jaws to eat up their preys.
