Girei<\/strong>, the Acting Director of Academic Planning on behalf of the NUC Executive Secretary, <strong>Professor Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu<\/strong>, marks a significant stride in OAUSTECH\u2019s ongoing academic expansion and institutional growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Newly Approved Programmes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The NUC\u2019s approval covers both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes designed to align with current global trends and national manpower needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Undergraduate Programmes:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>B.Sc. Cyber Security<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>B.Sc. Marine Science<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>B.Sc. Meteorology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Postgraduate Programmes:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), M.Eng, and PhD in Civil Engineering<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), M.Eng, and PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the NUC, these programmes are aimed at strengthening OAUSTECH\u2019s academic offerings, improving research output, and broadening opportunities for students to acquire advanced scientific and engineering skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u201cA Major Step Forward,\u201d Says OAUSTECH Vice-Chancellor<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Reacting to the development, the Vice-Chancellor of OAUSTECH, <strong>Professor Temi Ologunorisa<\/strong>, described the approval as <em>\u201ca major step forward in the university\u2019s mission to nurture future-ready graduates.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He emphasized that the new programmes will equip students with practical and research-oriented skills that meet both national and global industry standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThis achievement reflects OAUSTECH\u2019s commitment to excellence in science and technology education. It will also enhance our competitiveness among Nigerian universities,\u201d Professor Ologunorisa stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>He further expressed gratitude to the NUC for the confidence reposed in the university and encouraged staff and students to support the smooth implementation of the new programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Management Commends University Leadership<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Also commenting, the <strong>Director of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance<\/strong>, <strong>Dr. Cecilia Oluwamodupe<\/strong>, commended the efforts of the university\u2019s leadership and Governing Council, chaired by <strong>Professor Akinbo Adesomoju<\/strong>, for their instrumental role in securing the NUC\u2019s approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She noted that the new programmes would not only boost OAUSTECH\u2019s academic reputation but also attract more students, research collaborations, and partnerships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Expanding Opportunities for Students and Communities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The introduction of <strong>Marine Science<\/strong> is particularly significant for the Okitipupa coastal region, as it offers new academic and career opportunities related to maritime studies, environmental management, and ocean research. Students will also gain access to fieldwork experiences and collaborative projects that benefit local communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>OAUSTECH has announced that admissions into the new undergraduate programmes will commence once they are listed on the <strong>JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Commitment to Academic Excellence<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>With this latest NUC approval, OAUSTECH continues to strengthen its position as one of Nigeria\u2019s fastest-growing science and technology universities.
