has opened a new examination centre in <strong>London, United Kingdom<\/strong>, marking a major milestone in its global education expansion drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new centre, officially launched during the <strong>Education Matters Conference UK 2025<\/strong>, was unveiled by NECO\u2019s Registrar and Chief Executive, <strong>Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi<\/strong>, in partnership with <strong>Barnfield Education Ltd<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Prof. Wushishi, the initiative aims to bridge educational gaps for <strong>Nigerian students and adult learners in the UK<\/strong> who have been unable to complete their secondary education or obtain equivalent qualifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThis project supports the Federal Government\u2019s policy on inclusive education and global access to learning,\u201d Wushishi said, emphasizing NECO\u2019s role in providing credible and accessible assessments for Nigerians worldwide.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Global Expansion of NECO Examination Centres<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>With the London addition, NECO now operates in <strong>seven countries<\/strong>, including <strong>Saudi Arabia<\/strong>, while new centres are awaiting accreditation in <strong>Egypt<\/strong> and <strong>Burkina Faso<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Wushishi described the London centre as a <strong>strategic step<\/strong> to extend NECO\u2019s global footprint, adding that it would help <strong>Nigerians abroad gain educational recognition<\/strong> while reinforcing the <strong>credibility of NECO certificates<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He noted that NECO certificates are already accepted by several <strong>international universities<\/strong>, including <strong>Birmingham City University<\/strong> and <strong>Leeds Trinity University<\/strong> in the UK, as well as institutions in the <strong>United States, Canada, India, China, and Russia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Strong Support from Nigeria\u2019s Education Ministry and High Commission<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Minister of Education<\/strong>, <strong>Dr. Tunji Alausa<\/strong>, lauded NECO\u2019s expansion into the UK, describing it as <em>\u201ca practical move to ensure no Nigerian learner is left behind.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He emphasized that the development aligns with the Ministry\u2019s broader goal of <strong>engaging Nigerians in the diaspora<\/strong> to contribute to the nation\u2019s educational advancement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, <strong>Dr. John Ibanga<\/strong>, Director of <strong>BEP Education<\/strong> and NECO\u2019s UK partner, highlighted that the new centre would serve as an <strong>alternative academic pathway<\/strong> for Nigerian students in the UK\u2014especially those facing challenges within the British education system or unable to access the <strong>General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThis new NECO SSCE centre gives both young learners and adults a recognised route for academic and vocational advancement,\u201d Dr. Ibanga said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Endorsement from the Nigerian High Commission in London<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>During his visit to the <strong>Nigerian High Commission in London<\/strong>, Prof. Wushishi briefed the Mission on the accreditation process and reaffirmed NECO\u2019s commitment to expanding opportunities for Nigerians overseas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ambassador Eche Abu-Obe<\/strong>, Head of Political Affairs at the Mission, praised the initiative as a <em>\u201ctimely and strategic move that aligns with Nigeria\u2019s vision for educational inclusivity.\u201d<\/em> He also reaffirmed the High Commission\u2019s readiness to collaborate with NECO in promoting Nigeria\u2019s educational objectives in the UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>NECO Strengthens Education for Nigerians Abroad<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The establishment of the London centre underscores NECO\u2019s <strong>commitment to inclusive, quality education<\/strong> and its determination to support <strong>Nigerians in the diaspora<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By expanding its reach beyond Nigeria\u2019s
