Big relief is here for Nigerian nursing students. The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) has officially scrapped the long-standing \u201cthree strikes and you\u2019re out\u201d rule that disqualified students after failing their professional exam three times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Starting September 2025<\/strong>, nursing candidates will no longer be forced out of the profession after repeated failures. Instead, the Council has introduced a new, more supportive re-sit policy aimed at helping students succeed without lowering standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Previously, any student who failed the Council\u2019s professional qualifying examination three times was automatically disqualified from continuing their nursing career.
