To catch candidates willing to cheat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to JAMB, this strategy was designed to expose fraudsters who promise students guaranteed success in exchange for payment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">180 Students Caught: What Happens Next<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>So far, <strong>180 students<\/strong> have been caught after paying up to <strong>\u20a630,000 or more<\/strong> to these fake platforms, hoping for leaked exam questions or inflated scores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead, they walked straight into JAMB\u2019s trap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These students now face serious consequences:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Their <strong>UTME or Direct Entry results could be cancelled<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They may be <strong>prosecuted in court<\/strong> for examination malpractice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>JAMB has made it clear \u2014 <strong>cheating will not go unpunished<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">JAMB Boss Warns Against Shortcut Websites<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Professor <strong>Ishaq Oloyede<\/strong>, the Registrar of JAMB, addressed the press in Abuja, strongly warning candidates against falling for online scams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cNo website can give you answers. These sites are designed to exploit desperate students,\u201d Oloyede said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>He stressed that the best \u2014 and only \u2014 way to succeed in the UTME is through <strong>honest preparation and hard work<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mock Exam: A Test Run for Fairness<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In March, over <strong>126,000 candidates<\/strong> participated in JAMB\u2019s nationwide <strong>mock examination<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mock exam was not just for practice \u2014 it also served as a tool for JAMB to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Test new systems that prevent cheating<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare candidates for the real testing environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The official UTME exam begins <strong>April 25, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Advice for Schools and Candidates<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Professor Oloyede also urged schools to <strong>focus on genuine learning<\/strong>, not just high scores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cStudents should prepare well.
