In a significant move aimed at improving the welfare of Corps Members, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, has confirmed an increase in the monthly allowance for all Corps Members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Effective from March 2025, the new monthly allowance will be \u20a677,000, a boost that has been welcomed by Corps Members across the country. The announcement was made during a recent visit by the DG to the NYSC zonal offices in Wuse and Garki, in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), where he addressed Corps Members directly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his remarks, Brigadier General Nafiu assured the Corps Members that the new payment structure would be fully implemented as promised. He emphasized that both the NYSC and the Federal Government are committed to meeting the needs of Corps Members, ensuring their welfare is a top priority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Scheme is designed to help you grow, not just professionally, but also personally. I urge you to stay calm, focus on your duties, and carry them out with the utmost care and responsibility,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reflecting on the legacy of the NYSC, the DG praised the founders of the Scheme and underscored its role in promoting national unity, teamwork, leadership, and good behavior among young Nigerians. He also assured Corps Members that effective record-keeping would guarantee timely and accurate payment of their allowances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking on behalf of her fellow Corps Members, Zaka Deborah Alheri (FC\/24A\/5831) expressed gratitude to the Director General for his efforts in securing the allowance increase. She encouraged everyone to remain patient and await their March payment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
