In a landmark decision, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has officially appointed Prof. Adamu Ahmed as its new Vice-Chancellor. A lecturer at ABU’s Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Prof. Ahmed has been with the university since 1991, rising through the ranks to become a professor in 2012.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He has held several important roles within ABU, including Director of the Directorate of University Advancement, and Coordinator of the Centre for Spatial Information Science (CSIS). His leadership extends beyond the university, as he currently serves as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council at the Federal University of Education in Kano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A Wealth of Educational Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Prof. Ahmed is a well-rounded scholar, having earned his Bachelor\u2019s degree in Geography (1985), Master\u2019s in Urban and Regional Planning (1990), and PhD in Urban and Regional Planning (2000), all from ABU Zaria.
