The 2025 Sabbatical Attachment Programme invites eligible candidates from various academic disciplines to apply for a 12-month sabbatical at Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCIN).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is the Sabbatical Programme?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This programme allows university lecturers to collaborate with Shell on important research, community initiatives, and development projects. Participants will also have the chance to teach at Shell\u2019s Centres of Excellence (CoEs), gaining first-hand experience in the energy and corporate sectors. It&#8217;s an exciting opportunity for senior academics to blend teaching with real-world industry exposure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who Can Apply?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The programme is open to university lecturers (senior lecturers and above) from a wide range of fields, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Environment<\/strong>: Impact Assessment, Biodiversity, Environmental Toxicology, Air Quality, Hydrobiology, Water Chemistry, Hydrogeology, Ecology.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Corporate Relations<\/strong>: Social Impact Assessment and Management, Host Community Development Trust (HCDT), Stakeholder Relations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Community Health<\/strong>: Community Health, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Paediatrics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Nigerian Content Development<\/strong>: Engineering, especially Process and Project Engineering.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Real Estate<\/strong>: Civil Engineering (with a minimum of 3 years of experience).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Geosciences and Petroleum Engineering<\/strong>: Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering (University of Benin).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Marine and Offshore Engineering<\/strong>: Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture (Rivers State University).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Environmental Management and Green Energy<\/strong>: Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Microbiology, or Biotechnology (University of Nigeria, Nsukka).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Apply<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Interested lecturers should submit the following to <strong>SPDC-University-Relations@shell.com<\/strong> by <strong>1 December 2024<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>A cover letter stating the discipline and team of interest.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A detailed CV with contact information and references.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A one-page summary explaining how they will contribute to Shell\u2019s work during the sabbatical.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Please ensure that all required documents are included; incomplete applications will not be considered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Information<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Free to Apply<\/strong>: There are no application fees, and Shell does not use agents for the process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Shortlisted Candidates Only<\/strong>: Only those who meet the criteria will be contacted.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Data Protection<\/strong>: SPDC ensures that applicants&#8217; personal data will be kept private and used only for selection purposes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This sabbatical programme offers a rare chance to combine academic expertise with industry practice and create lasting impact in Nigeria\u2019s energy and environmental sectors.
