The University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) has officially appointed Mrs. Shiva Rae M\u2019ovul-Kondoun as its new Bursar, following a decision made by the Governing Council during their 70th Extra-Ordinary meeting on October 24, 2024. Mrs. M\u2019ovul-Kondoun will serve a five-year term in this vital role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hailing from Logo Local Government Area in Benue State, Mrs. M\u2019ovul-Kondoun\u2019s educational journey began at Queen of Rosary Secondary School in Gboko, where she completed her WAEC\/GCE O\u2019 levels in 1983. She earned a Diploma in Accounting from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria in 1987 and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Benin in 1997. Furthering her education, she completed a Master\u2019s in Business Administration at Benue State University in 2005 and is currently pursuing a PhD in Accounting and Finance at the same institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mrs. M\u2019ovul-Kondoun has enriched her expertise through numerous national and international training programs. In 2013, she participated in a seminar on Leadership, Ethics, and Corporate Governance at the University of Pittsburgh, USA. She has also attended major conferences, including the International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) Conference in the UK (2011) and the World Congress of Accountants (WCOA) in Rome (2014), Sydney (2018), and Mumbai (2022). Her commitment to professional development is evident through her involvement in various Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Starting her career in 2001 as Accountant I at Benue State University, Mrs. M\u2019ovul-Kondoun quickly advanced to Deputy Bursar by 2012. She served as the Acting Bursar from January to August 2021 and contributed significantly as a member of the ANAN Governing Council Committee on International Relations and Linkages from 2015 to 2019. Additionally, she is on the Board of Trustees for the Chartered Institute of Forensic and Certified Fraud Examiners of Nigeria (CIFCFEN) and chairs the Professional Women Accountants in Nigeria (PROWAN).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before her appointment at UNIABUJA, she was the Deputy Bursar for the Budget and Expenditure Control Division at Benue State University, showcasing her strong financial management skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mrs. M\u2019ovul-Kondoun is a Fellow of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (FCNA), having earned this status in 2019. She also holds fellowship status in CIFCFEN, awarded in 2021, and is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (ACTI). As a registered Professional Accountant with the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) since 2012, her qualifications reflect her commitment to the field of accounting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With her extensive experience and dedication to financial excellence, Mrs. M\u2019ovul-Kondoun is poised to make significant contributions to the University of Abuja as its new Bursar. Her leadership is anticipated to guide UNIABUJA towards a prosperous future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
