Understanding JAMB CAPS Admission Status Meanings

JAMB CAPS displays different statuses as your application moves through the process. Understanding these terms removes the anxiety:

      “Admission Offered”

This is the status you want to see. “Admission Offered” means JAMB has approved your placement at The Polytechnic Ibadan, and you can now accept or reject the offer through official channels. If you accept, you’re one step closer to beginning your ND programme.

      “Admission In Progress” (AIP)

This status indicates that The Polytechnic Ibadan is still reviewing your application and hasn’t yet made a final decision. In addition, it means further verification or document checking may be ongoing. Therefore, avoid panicking—decisions are still being processed.

      “Recommended”

Your application has been recommended for admission, but the final decision hasn’t been released. This is a positive sign and typically moves to “Admission Offered” shortly.

      “Not Admitted”

Unfortunately, this means The Polytechnic Ibadan has not offered you admission in this batch. However, additional batches may be released, or you may wish to explore other polytechnic options for 2026/2027.

      “Pending”

Your status is under review and hasn’t been finalized. Check back regularly for updates.

What to Do After Receiving an Admission Offer

Once you see “Admission Offered” on both portals, follow these steps:
