The announcement came via a memo from the Office of the Registrar (Academic Division), dated 13th January 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The extension, approved \u201con compassionate grounds,\u201d is intended to give both new and returning students adequate time to complete the test and submit their results to the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Who the extension applies to<\/strong><br>The ATBU notice covers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>New students<\/strong> \u2013 those joining the university for the 2025\/2026 session.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Returning students<\/strong> \u2013 those continuing from previous sessions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All students are required to submit their NDLEA Drug Integrity Test results as part of the university\u2019s admission and registration requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Registration continues as normal<\/strong><br>ATBU stressed that students should proceed with registration without delay. While the test result is still required, it does not pause or affect the registration process. Students are advised to complete registration steps as usual, then submit the Drug Integrity Test results within the approved deadline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>New deadline: End of First Semester, 2025\/2026<\/strong><br>Students now have until the end of the first semester of the 2025\/2026 academic session to submit their NDLEA Drug Integrity Test results. ATBU emphasized that this extension is a one-time semester adjustment and does not waive the requirement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Consequences of non-submission<\/strong><br>The university made it clear that failure to submit the NDLEA Drug Integrity Test result will prevent students from accessing their semester results.
