According to the Council, Professor Gumel\u2019s appointment will <strong>take effect from 10 February 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rigorous Selection Process<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chairman of the Governing Council, <strong>Professor Shuaibu Oba Abdulraheem, OFR, NPOM<\/strong>, said the appointment followed a <strong>careful and merit-based selection exercise<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He disclosed that <strong>21 candidates were shortlisted and interviewed<\/strong>, after which Professor Gumel emerged as the <strong>most qualified and successful applicant<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Professor Abdulraheem congratulated the Vice-Chancellor-designate and offered prayers for wisdom, strength, and divine guidance as he prepares to lead the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Gumel Reacts: \u201cA Call to Serve\u201d<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In his acceptance remarks, <strong>Professor Gumel expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah<\/strong> for the opportunity to serve.
