The institution says the update is part of efforts to properly document students\u2019 academic projects and streamline the <strong>National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) mobilisation process<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the notice, all affected students must now complete <strong>project registration with the Nigeria Education Repository and Databank (NERD)<\/strong> as a compulsory step before NYSC clearance can be granted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Is NERD Registration and Why It Matters<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>NERD, which stands for <strong>Nigeria Education Repository and Databank<\/strong>, is a national database used to store and verify students\u2019 academic project records. Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic explained that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Every Prospective Corps Member and HND II student who has defended their project <strong>must register their project with NERD<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Successful registration enables students to process their <strong>NERD clearance<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>NERD clearance is now mandatory<\/strong> for access to the NYSC Orientation Camp.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In clear terms, students who fail to complete this registration risk <strong>delays or outright stoppage of their NYSC mobilisation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Registration Date Announced<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Polytechnic has fixed <strong>Tuesday, 6 January 2026<\/strong>, as the official start date for NERD project registration. Students are strongly advised to begin the process early to avoid last-minute complications during clearance and mobilisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>School authorities warned that waiting until the deadline could lead to unnecessary delays, especially as NYSC documentation typically involves multiple verification stages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Polytechnic Urges Full Compliance<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic has urged all affected students to <strong>strictly comply with the directive within the stated time frame<\/strong>.
